Falling Star

Okay, so writing regularly has become a bit of a problem. I am feeling some heat from my Dear Readers (you know who you are!) to get on the ball and script some prose.

Script some prose?

So, late August came and went, and here we are, almost into late September. To finish the Star 98.7 story, my friend did not make it into the top 5 chosen to perform live. Hence, she did not win the competition.

Oddly, the final five were not all chosen from the top 15 either. It was not only disappointing, but misleading also.

Four of the top 5 were chosen by the judges tied to the radio station. The 5th of the five was voted in as a fan favorite, meaning they got the most email votes. 3 of the top 4 chosen by the judges were not in the top 15.

Kind of weird, eh?

Anyhow, she did get some exposure at the live show as her video was chosen for play in front of the audience.

And if it’s not blasphemy to say so, the duo that did win were the best of the lot. Their submitted video was a bit strange as the singer seemed to be zoned out on at least 15 different anti depressants, but other performances I have listened to revealed an interesting style and great songs.

Good luck to them!

Well, I’m glad to hear that the winner was actually good, but, um, isn’t the point of limiting the field to, er, limit the field, and choose from those contestants? Going outside that group just isn’t right.

And now that you mention it, it *is* about time you posted again, gf. 😉

It was kind of weird. I can understand it from the point of view from the station because who wants to have a contest in which the top 15 might not necessarily be the most talented, but the band with the most friends.

But still, they should have made sure their choices ended up in the top 15.

On the plus side it was a great drum riser…

    Don’t work to hard

It was an AWESOME drum riser!
