And Then There Were Three

What is it with me and fish?

I went out yesterday for their morning feeding, and counted only 4. After doing a search of the water, to look for a floater, I started searching the surrounding area.

And there he was. The 5th fish. He either jumped right out of the pond, or was placed there by critters unknown.

At the evening feeding, I again counted 4. So far, so good.

Not good.

While avoiding the sprinkler heads that pop up to water the lawn, I headed to the pond, bag of fish food in hand, and hope in my heart.

And counted only three.

Another search in the water and surrounding areas, in vain. This time, the fish thief made off with the prize.

Maybe your cat got hungry? or your local birds are not being well fed? A sure way to tell if your cat has been eating a lot fish is if his reading skills have improved…Or he has low cholesterol…
I think it might be time to invest in some mesh screening or fine green netting. This will help keep out dead leaves as well as all kinds of predators…
